Honest About Cost. Committed to Access.

We know that cost is one of the first questions people have when considering therapy — and we think that's completely reasonable. That's why we're upfront about our fees, what influences them, and how to make care work within your budget.

Our clinicians range from pre-licensed associates (supervised by licensed experts) to seasoned specialists with 10+ years of focused clinical experience. This range allows us to offer meaningful options across different price points without compromising on quality or approach.

We are an out-of-network practice, which means we don't bill insurance directly. However, we provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement — and our Mentaya tool below can help you check your benefits instantly.

Fees & Insurance FAQ

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients with PPO plans receive significant reimbursement by submitting our superbills to their insurance company. We recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking about your out-of-network mental health benefits before starting therapy.

What is a superbill and how do I use it?

A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the diagnostic codes, procedure codes, session dates, and provider credentials your insurance company needs to process a reimbursement claim. We provide superbills after each session, which you can submit directly to your insurer via their member portal, app, or by mail.

How much will my insurance reimburse?

Reimbursement rates vary widely depending on your specific plan. Many PPO plans reimburse between 40% and 80% of the "usual and customary" rate for mental health services once your deductible is met. Use the Mentaya tool above to get an instant estimate of your out-of-network benefits, or call your insurer directly.

Is there a fee for the initial consultation?

No — your initial 15–20 minute phone consultation is completely free and carries no obligation. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, share what you're looking for, and for us to determine whether we're a good fit for your needs.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, we maintain a limited number of reduced-fee slots for clients who demonstrate financial need. Availability varies by clinician. Please bring this up during your free consultation — we will always try to find a way to make care accessible.

Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for therapy?

Yes. Psychotherapy is a qualified medical expense under most HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) plans. You can use your HSA or FSA card to pay for sessions directly, making therapy a pre-tax expense and effectively reducing your out-of-pocket cost.

What is the difference between an associate and a licensed clinician?

An associate therapist has completed their graduate degree and is working toward full licensure under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor. They receive regular case consultation and oversight, which means you benefit from two clinicians' expertise. Licensed clinicians have completed all requirements for independent practice. Both provide high-quality, evidence-based care.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, may be charged the full session fee. We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you.
