I work with clients in a compassionate and directive way, getting to the root of maladaptive coping behaviors, breaking old patterns, and learning new, more effective coping skills. Her approach to therapy is active, collaborative, and goal oriented. She offers a supportive environment and integrative approach to help clients make long lasting behavioral changes.
My goal as your therapist is to assist you in gaining awareness of your thought patterns and habits to help you get closer to what is most important to you. Together, we will identify the thoughts and feelings that get in your way and help you change your relationship to them so that they no longer stop you from taking effective action. Because people learn experientially, in both my teaching and clinical work, I incorporate role-plays, metaphors, experiential exercises, and mindfulness techniques. My style is highly relational – I aim to be warm and validating and will often bring attention to what is happening here and now in the present moment. Together we will utilize new tools and practice skills to help you reach your goals and meet your full potential. I want you to live a life that is meaningful and vital, and I feel honored to help you get closer to that.
